Clothing advice

Kayaking

There is always a possibility you will get wet and end up swimming so bring your normal swimming attire. Bring a tee shirt or rash vest to wear as well.  We will supply a wind proof kagoule and we have wetsuits available if the water is particularly cold. A tight fitting hat is always a good idea to protect from sun, wind or rain. A thin fleece is useful in cold weather. Wet shoes or old trainers (tightly laced) are necessary when carrying boats across shingle or pebbles. Please respect the instructor's advice on the day - they have been there before! 

Climbing

Exposure to the elements is one of the key aspects of climbing and abseiling outdoors. On a hot sunny day protection from the sun is paramount.  Light coloured clothing that covers most of the arms and legs is best with plenty of sunscreen for the neck and ears!  On a cold day have plenty of layers available as your temperature will fluctuate between climbs. A wind proof top is very useful at all times. Wear tightly laced trainers and be prepared to get them scuffed.

All our activities will be led by experienced coaches qualified in the activity. All specialist equipment required for the activity will be supplied by us.  Personal protective equipment supplied must be worn when requested by the instructor. All activities are fully risk assessed and insured, a copy of both are available on request. All instructors carry a group safety kit including a first aid kit, mobile phone and/or vhf radio

The weather plays a major part in outdoor activities and we take all necessary precautions to provide a safe and comfortable experience in the event of unexpected weather conditions.  If an activity is cancelled due to adverse weather conditions, we will offer either an alternative date or a full refund of any deposit paid.
